Today was one of those grey days. It was sunny and nice Saturday but since Sunday it has been pretty greyish. The spring that felt like it was right around the corner also vanished. So we are back to grey winter again with a few degrees below freezing, enough to keep the snow and ice in place. Aaaagh I want spring now! I am so done with winter but it keeps lingering around.
The good thing is that it is getting noticeably lighter each week. Now there is daylight until about 5:30 pm and the sun gets up around 6:30 am. So that feels great! Tomorrow they have promised some sun so I hope they are correct. I never expected the weather and climate to affect me so much but it does. I wish I was more resistant to grey skies, cold and darkness. Well well let the sun shine tomorrow.
Stockholm is not the prettiest right now. It´s the grey skies and also the entire city looks dirty with the brownish-black snow from the cars and the gravel. Stockholm would need a good scrubbing or a nice warm wash with bleach to make it clean and shiny again. Everyday when I come home I have to clean off my boots because they get so dirty by just walking outside. Everything gets dirty from the melting snow, your boots, your car, everything. This is why we Swedes take off our outdoor shoes when we step inside our home or other peoples homes. Not because we have a lot of snow but because how dirty you get by walking the streets with snow and ice melting and freezing mixing with sand and gravel.
I finally figured out the name of the church it is that we see the tower of from our porch. C thought it might be Katarina church but he was wrong, it is Sofia church. I like the tower with the big clock that is lit during the evenings.
So even if it is grey outside my herbs are doing fine and keeping green and fresh. I love having a bunch of fresh herbs at home. I think they both look pretty and also they really add a nice flavor to the cooking. I have some rosemary, basil, thyme and cilantro here. I buy new ones regularly because these don´t last for very long. It is the ones that you buy at the supermarket so they really aren´t meant to last for very long.
May tomorrow be sunny and bright where ever you are.
