Sunday we went to a place called Tulpanenshus or House of Tulips located out in Åkeshov by Åkeshovs castle. They had an exhibition showing many kinds of tulips. Even if it was not a huge exhibit is was real nice. I saw tulips I had never seen before and many very beautiful ones that I fell in love with instantly. I just love tulips. It is one of my absolute favorite flowers. I have been buying new ones each week now since the beginning of January. I like them both when they are new and fresh as well as when they have almost bloomed out completley and are almost wilting.
The one to the left almost does not look like a tulip but still it is. I love the one on the right also that is called Ballerina. It looks so delicate and beautiful and I think the name is just perfect for it.
The latest addition to the tulip family is Prince Daniel named after the Swedish crown princess, Victorias, husband.
I took so many pictures. I just could not stop. There were so many beautiful ones and the lighting was perfect.
So many beauties. So many different colors, kinds, shapes of petals. It would have been impossible to pick just one favorite. I really liked the ones here in the left picture. The flower head is huge causing the flowers to bend gracefully towards the ground.
This is another one of my absolute favorites with the feathery shaped petals.
I came home with what seemed like a million pictures of tulips so it took me quite a while to go through them and select which pictures to keep and which to toss in the trash bin.
These look like pure sunshine. I love when the flowers open up fully. I am so glad that the day was sunny outside as well giving me perfect lighting for taking the best pictures. They just fill me with pure happiness.
