I have considered subscribing myself but when giving it some thought I have realized that it isen't really a good offer for me after all. At first it sounds great and it may be for many people. At first I thought, great then I don't have to go grocery shopping but that is not true really. You get the ingredients for your dinners but you still end up having to go to the store as you still need to buy breakfast items, cleaning items, and everything else that you need and want except for what is covered in the recipes. Also I eat quite a lot of fruit and vegetables so I would have to go to the store and buy that as well. Also I am kind of picky when it comes to fruit and vegetables so I would want to select those myself.
I also asked some people at my work place if they had tried any of these companies and if the portion size was satisfying or if they felt it was a little too little. Some people said that the serving size was kind of smallish. Some one else mentioned that they had seen a correlation of what was put in the recipes with the special offers the store had that week.
I also think that it is kind of expensive. What you end up paying the most for is someone else finding you recipes and deciding on what you are going to cook and even if it is not the most fun thing to figure out what to eat each evening I feel I still can do that by myself. Going grocery shopping may not either be my favorite thing to do but since I still have to go to the store to get everything else that is not covered and delivered it still does not eliminate me going to the store.
I also still think it is kind of expensive considering what you get. It costs about 500-750 kr for five dinners of four servings each.
Have any of you tried this kind of dinner subscription? What do you think about it? Good or bad? Would you try it?
