Romantic Places

I was actually about to forgett that there was a romantic theme for today that Annika, Lisbeth and Lotta started. that I had signed up for. I joined the theme with serveral of my other blog friends in writing about the most romantic places.

The archipelago of Stockholm on a beautiful summer evening preferably gliding trough the water on a sailing boat. Making a stop at any of the small islands and having a pick nick dinner is very romantic.

Spending a day at a secluded beach on Hawaii. Swiming, snorkling enjoying the beautiful under water world of the reef. Swiming with sea turtles  ending the day by sitting on the beach watching the sun set in the ocean.

The most romantic and beautiful place of the South is to me Savannah. Large old plantation estates outside the city. The river and the closeness to the Atlantic ocean. The Spanish moss swaying gently in the breeze. Sipping on a cool glas of ice tea out on a lovely big front porch on one of the old style colonial homes or strolling in the sunshine among the green parks with all those beautiful fountains.  Savannah holds all that old beauty and charm of the deep south. Nicknamed The Pearl of the South, as you come here you instantly know why when you see it.

Something else being very romantic and special to me is star gazing at the night sky as we did out in Arches National Park in Utah. Far away from the disturbing city lights this is the place to enjoy the vastness of the dark skies once the sun has set. I have never seen stars as I have here. You see more than just stars as you can see star dust surrounding the stars. Lying down and gazing up you feel very small and the universe immensly vast but completly stunning. This just is magical.

What could not be more romantic than driving into the French country side of Provence to the lavender fields. The scent of lavender filling the air together with the buzzing sound of the bees into the late afternoon summer sky.

Another place that gets to the top on my romantic list is Tuscany in Italy. The food, the wine, the surroundings. Spending a few days here made me feel as if I had stepped into the movie " A room with a view". You have the old charm and beauty of the small villages, the historical towns and the impressive castles from the middle ages. Driving around on small narrow country roads from one winery to another, tasting wine and buying bottles. I have never eaten so many delicious meals as when being here in Tuscany.  Romance flows as easily as Chianti here.

Perhaps eating or sharing a Gelatto as you stroll on the Piazza.

Beautiful old castles with rich history.

The rolling hills of Tuscany. Like a beautiful quilt spreading out.

Kram!

Lotta, tack vännen.
