Movie theaters are located pretty much in two different parts of Stockholm, either in the city center or on the south side. There are also a few here and there in the suburbs. Actually there is one here in Solna. GA.Filmstaden Råsunda.
This used to be our old neighbor hood where we lived before we moved to Alabama. Funny enough we did not go to the movies all the time just because we happened to live right next to a movie theater. Right now it was perfect. I biked here from home in 15 minutes.
The area has grown quite a lot since we moved from here. We moved in when only the first few buildings had been completed. Now the entire neighborhood is finished. It looks very nice I think. The old cinema has been the theme for the area. They have named the different buildings after famous cinemas in Stockholm so you got Palladium, Rival ect.
I realized I should try to go to the movies more often because it really does make a difference to see a good movie on a big screen. I only wish that it would be cheaper to go to the movies. Here most movie tickets cost between 110 and 130 kr. I can understand that this becomes quite a big cost for a family of four to go to the movies. There are several more movies I would like to see such as Skyfall - the new Bond movie and a French movie called En oväntad vänskap in Swedish. I am eagerly waitning for Anna Karenina to come but it won't be here until February next year. I don't expect going to the movies is exactly cheap in Switzerland either, probably around the same cost as in Sweden.
