This is what it looked like when I peaked out on Sunday. The skyline is so filled with snowflakes that you can hardly see the church tower in the distance. There is no way the slightest sun rays will penetrate through this. It was really hard to just be able to push the balcony door open. We have at least one foot of snow by now, probably more close to two.
This is said to be the coldest and most severe winter in the last 150 years. I can't believe we happened to pick this year to move back to. Well at least there will definatley be a white Christmas. It has turned cold also. Now it is about -7 C or 20 F but it will get colder by Wednesday when it will be -15 C (5 F). Yesterday we drove out to my parents place and the roads were so slippery! We had to drive very carefully when we drove home in the evening.
I like to keep the window slightly open when we sleep at night and in the morning when I woke up it had snowed in. So we had this small pile of snow I had to take care of.
In the midst of this snow blizzard I bought myself some very nice red tulips to cheer me up. I just love tulips and the red ones are perfect for Christmas. I am off to work for another couple of days and then I have one day before Christmas that I am off from work.
Our Christmas plans suddenly changed. C's parents were supposed to drive up to Stockholm from the southern parts of Sweden where they live (Karlskrona) but will not be able to do so. C's mother caught a real nasty cold a few weeks ago and now C's father also got it. Both of his parents are too sick to make the drive up to Stockholm. He was supposed to celebrate Christmas with them and his sister and her family at his sisters place here in Stockholm. His sister and family decided to celebrate with her in laws instead so C will have to celebrate Christmas with me and my parents this year. My brother that lives in Moscow will not be able to come for Christmas so it would just have been me and my parents but now C will join us which makes me very happy. So it will be a different Christmas this year.
