The lack of daylight makes me feel constantly tired. I try to get out and head to the gym during lunch and that actually helps. I feel less tired after I have been outside and gotten some exercise. Well dear Santa I am wishing to see the sun shine soon again.
My parents have several bird houses and feeding stations for the birds that stay and endure the Swedish winter. They make sure they get something to eat during these cold days. There is always something going on out here. Sitting in my parents kitchen we all have a good view over the yard and all the small birds that come and feed. It is quite entretaining to watch which birds come and how they interact with each other.
Bikes covered in snow as well. You still see some people going by bike. I guess they have more of that Swedish Viking character than I have. I watch them as they pass me but the ride seems quite wobbly.
The kids are having fun playing in the snow anyway. I remember how I used to play just like this for hours and hours in the snow.
The past few days we have had milder temperatures and the piles of snow have shrunk and turned into a slushy pools of icy water. In Sweden you get to wear your rain boots more often during winter than fall as you get days like these. Then it all freezes up again. Colder weather is on it's way. The cold winds from Russia are about to reach us.
Can't believe that it is Christmas in less than one week. I love that you get a nice long Christmas break here in Sweden. Maybe that compensates a little for the lack of sunshine.
