It's been a cold weekend but a lovely one.Pretty lika a Christmas card. The best part was getting some sunshine. Feeling the sun on your face is not something that you are spoiled with during the month of December in Sweden. Days are short and most of the days are greyish and overcast. On a beautiful winter day like this I did not want to miss the opportunity of taking a nice walk in the sunshine. I walked down to Frösundavik.
The kids sure are enjoying the snow.
Something worth to consider are these ice stalaktites formed overhanging from rooftops. Beautiful but dangerous. It is worth looking up sometimes to see what is above your head. There have been death cases here in Stockholm where people have died from being hit in the head of falling ice.
Therefore signs like this one are put up to warn people. This sign was actually covered by real ice. It really is a proper illustration of the warning that should be taken seriously.
Another example of dangerous but beautiful ice-daggers hanging from the roof top.
A true landscape of snow and ice. Ice formations of all kinds can be seen now days.
The temperature dropped again during this weekend. It had been slightly milder during the week but now it is cold cold cold again with temperatures below -10 C (14 F).
Lovely pattern of snowflakes attached to the glass of this buss stop that I passed. Every snow flake is unique and has it's very own shape. So pretty!
Snow covered tables and chairs outside of this coffee shop in our neighborhood. I don't think that any guest are willing to sit outside now. Too cold.
I found Santa. Encountered him here at St.Eriksplan playing Christmas songs on his saxophone. I gave him some coins. His effort for dressing up and sitting out here in the cold playing music deserves credit.
As I passed the same place later on I made another nice encounter. Outside of Ica at St.Eriksplan they were handing out small cups with warm glögg for free. I had just been at a great boxercise class and was on my way home. I was cold and in need for some energy so a warm cup of glögg was very much welcomed and appreciated.
I came home and cooked a delicious bouillabaisse with saffron. I made myself an Apple-vanillatini as I was cooking. Warm apple cider with a stick of cinammon and some vanilla vodka. Turned out really well. I was totally exhuasted after my Boxercise class. I had a lot of fun doing punches and kicks for 75 minutes. I wanted to try this class for a long while and finally got this chance this weekend. Now I am sore i totally different muscles than I usually am. The surprising thing is that it is just as tough to hold the pads when the other person does the punching. A good thing about this class is that you can come by yourself and will be teamed up with a team mate there. A class I hope to attend again.
Yesterday I went to see the movie called En oväntad vänskap in Swedish (original titel being Intouchables). A French movie based on a true story about a special kind of friendship. Such a nice movie. If you are looking for a feel good movie that will make you laugh a lot this is it. I left the cinnema with a big smile on my face. If you haven't seen it do!
