Watermelon with flags. I had bought some small party decorations before we left Alabama just for some day having an American party here and those came in handy today. I even discovered to my joy that I had some balloons with Happy 4th of July printed on them.
C was of course the cowboy host of the evening. We got to use the outside porch which was perfect for a party like this one.
I made a flag cake. I had been Google:ing on Martha Stewart´s website to find some inspiration for decorations and that is where I got the idéa about the flag cake. It looked great but I still was kind of disappointed in it because it did not quite turn out the way I wanted or expected it to.
Setting the table for burgers and sides.
A nice mix of American beers in the ice bucket. Smore´s material. They don´t have graham crackers here so I had to find something similar (Digestive kex was my solution). Bought some Oreo cookies for dessert to have besides flag cake and watermelon.
C was the burger master by the grill. He made sure everyone was happy and did not leave hungry.
Making smores on the grill works fine. For a while everyone was really busy making smores :-)
Having a good time.
C´s co-workers M and M-L dancing in cowboy hats. C and his best friend A.
The country music we played was a blast. Little L sure was swinging it on the dance floor in a cowboy hat that was way too big for her little head. So cute.
