The weekend started of well. Even if I was later on going to meet Lotta at my favorite coffee shop I still decided to have one cup in the morning there on my way to work.
Decided to wear my boots so Lotta could easily spot me. She had no trouble doing so as I came on my bike wearing my boots. We sat down and had a nice cup of coffee and talked non-stop for about 1.5 hours. I must again say that I am so happy that I started blogging. The blog world has given me so many friends and has given me so much in return than I could ever imagine. Lotta and I had never met before but with her as with many of the other bloggers that I have met so far you are not strangers. You get to know each other by reading and following each other every day over a long period of time. Friendships can very much grow even if you have never met. Me and Lotta had lots to talk about and she was just the way I had pictured her. Hopefully we will see each other later on i December when Lotta is planning her next trip to Sweden.
The weekend has offered some beautiful fall weather. Sunshine and blue skies. Took this picture as I was on my way home Friday evening. Even if the days are rapidly getting shorter it is still beautiful. The first fall colors have started to arrive coloring the leafs yellow but it is still pretty green. Once it starts I think the explosion of fall colors will come on pretty strong.
Saturday me and C first enjoyed a long yummy breakfast and then we had one hour of massage each that was just the greatest. We went grocery shopping and cooked a nice dinner at home. Watched a movie and just had a great and relaxed evening.
We did make something special Saturday evening as well - ICE CREAM! I have the ice cream making part for my Kitchen Aid and we used this one to make some blueberry ice cream with cardamom. This was to die for! The last time we tried making ice cream we used another recipe that I did not like so much. This time I found another one where you had to heat up the ice cream batter mix before you cooled it down. I tried some of my own solutions as well. I used quark (kesella vanilj) instead of regular whipping cream and that turned out to be a very successful idéa. C turned into a kid again wanting to lick the bowl and getting ice cream all over his face.
Sunday morning. Nice slow start with a good and large cup of coffee together with some hot oatmeal sprinkled with some fresh raspberries.
It has been a good weekend, a nice relaxing one. Just what I needed.I just wished it would have stretched a little longer. Sunday evening we watched a good movie called The Express about Ernie Davis the american football hero. A good end to a good weekend.
