We drove up from San Diego to LA on our last morning. Our flight from LA was not leaving until the evening so we had a few hours once arriving in LA to do a little bit of sightseeing. We decided to head out towards Santa Monica Beach as this was not too far from the air port.
The beach here at Santa Monica Pier and what is Venice Beach is a really large beach. I guess that is great as there are lots of people here wanting to enjoy the beach. There is enough beach for everyone this way.
Lot's of beautiful and expensive homes. We did a couple of wrong turns around here and suddenly ended up in a very very nice residencial neighborhood with absolutely stunning houses. I would not even dream of what a home here in the hills over the Santa Monica Beach would cost.
There was a park with a view over the beach so I got this great over view of the beach from there.
We are back in Sweden now. Our own home sweet home. It always feels good to be home in your own home but I am sure going to miss California.
The flight home went really smooth. Getting on a night flight has some great advantages. I actually slept for about 5 hours on that flight. We had dinner on the plane, some red wine with our dinner and then I fell asleep at about 11 pm CA time and slept the entire flight until the turned the lights on in the cabin and started serving breakfast. So this time I did not even see a single movie on the plane. I don't care much about that, feels like a much better thing to get some sleep. We flew Swiss to Zurich from LA and I must say I really liked flying Swiss. Then we had a very short lay over of about an hour in Zurich before we boarded the plane to Stockholm.
Arrive home to our own home at about 8:30 pm and had time to unwind a bit, grabbing a bite with some tea and sandwiches and unpacking our suitcases.
